InDesign

 Intro to InDesign

This class is a great start for designers switching from other page layout programs or for those new to computer layout and design. This class is also appropriate for non-designers who need to know InDesign for the office or to better interface with designers.

The focus is on using an InDesign workflow for commercial print media but these same basics would be used for a workflow leading to digital and web products as well.

You will learn how to: set up your workspace and preferences; set up documents with page sizes, margins and master pages; use tools and dialog boxes for text, image placement, vector drawing, color and styles; maintain connections with linked files; collect files to share; and options for exporting to PDF.

Through short exercises, students will build a simple project to best understand how the various functions contribute to a final product.
